"My Coach met and exceeded my expectations during my first training session. He took time at the beginning to understand my fitness goals and then he set to work carving out a resistance workout routine customized to my needs.

He showed me several new exercises that were fun yet worked me out much harder and more effectively than the previous routine that I was settling into. Even more impressive was Johnny's commitment to ensuring that I understood everything I was doing. He even stayed with me past the 1/2 hour slot to write down the new exercises in a format that I could understand and remember. My experiences at Go: Fitness have exceeded my expectations of a fitness center.

As an occasional athlete in the past, I have been to several fitness centers in the Columbus area. None have met the quality of the staff or equipment. The staff here are friendly and always willing to answer my questions. Whether I had a questions over nutrition, heart monitors or a workout, that are knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me. The equipment along with the opportunity to do free weights and medicine ball workouts is extensive. The focus or functional workouts is new to me but is much appreciated as it means more can be done in less time."

“One of the things that sets this gym apart from other gyms is that there is such a wide variety of exercises going on at all times. I have been to other gyms where it seems like
everyone is on a conveyor belt doing the same workout every time they come in.

At Go: Fitness everyone has the opportunity to express themselves, as well as get the workout they need. Whether they are looking to lose some excess weight or tone up, they have so many options that there is no chance of getting bored. There is always an interesting challenge or workout going on!

This gym has personality. And the personality has kept me coming in regularly!”

“I originally started training because I thought it would help me water-ski better. Well, that was just the beginning. I have now trained for over 3 years, and don’t think I have ever done the same workout twice.

Since the training has begun, my body fat is lower, I feel and look younger. As I get older, my doctor says my body is getting younger at each of my last 2 annual physicals. All of my bloodwork and labs are way above average for someone my age.

My family cannot believe the things I do during my workout, and as a result of training just 2 days per week. I even had my trainer video tape some of one of my workouts, because my wife did not believe I do the things I do.

Recently, I went to a concert with my son, and was hit on by women 1/2 my age. Besides the health reasons, my enhanced physical abilities have been one of the biggest benefits from the training.”

"I have been a Go Fitness (formerly Built Solid) member since 2005. The perfect location, the family like atmosphere and the knowledge and warmth of the staff members keep me coming back each week. I enjoy having other members and staff at the gym; I feel more motivated to keep up my workouts based on the relationships I’ve developed.

I have seen amazing results with the help of my personal trainer, Charlie. Taking the time to get to know me, he is able to know what motivates me best. His knowledge and skill combined with my hard work make me tone and beautiful for my wedding last fall (2007). Charlie continues to provide high quality training, working with me throughout my pregnancy. I am confident that the support and training I’ve received at Go Fitness has helped me have a healthy, relaxed, and enjoyable pregnancy."

“Staying in shape is just one of the many reasons I belong to Go: Fitness. I have a stressful job and it is great to have a healthy place to come a few days a week that is just for me. It’s sort of my time and my place with no phones, no stress and no intrusions for a few hours at a time.

I am also an avid golfer, but don’t get many rounds in late in the year and early winter. Working with a trainer doing all the new functional style training has kept me in shape for good during the colder months and has added 25 yards to my drive. My overall swing has also improved, as I feel looser and more athletic after connecting with my trainer once every other week.

I don’t know if fitness has changed my life, but it certainly is part of my day that I look forward to – and maintaining my fitness level is definitely a benefit of being a regular at Go: Fitness!”

"I would highly recommend the upgraded memberships, with even just a half hour of coaching per month. I was a little skeptical but in just one half hour session, I learned so much and know that I am on the right track!"

“If it wasn’t for Go: Fitness I would never have felt 100% comfortable walking down the aisle at my cousin’s wedding this summer. I haven’t felt this great about my body since my senior year of high school. I had set a goal for myself to look nice for the wedding and the photos that would be taken; I didn’t realize how great I looked until I saw the pictures from the wedding. Also, in the last year I dropped down to a 7-8 junior’s size in jeans thanks to my Go: Fitness work-outs.”

“After my second back injury, I decided to get back into the gym. I decided to try the personal training because at first I wanted to be sure I was doing the exercises correctly and get the encouragement I needed to get from the 8th rep to the 10th.

I started off with all torso training for the first six weeks. I knew this kind of start was good because my doctor said it would help.

Since I started training I HAVE NOT HAD ONE BACK PROBLEM. My work has me on my feet moving the whole time. I am around a lot of men and it’s funny they ask ME to pick up things and ask ME about working out!

I definitely say to people to get personal training even if you say you can’t afford it. I make cuts in my budget because I’m better, I’m not paying doctor bills for my back anymore so that makes the personal training worth it. It’s definitely paying off.

Also, I lost 10% body fat, 8 lbs body weight and 6 inches off my waist! My belly button measurements went from 32 in. to 29 in, my hip measurements went from 37 in. to 31 in. and my upper leg measurements went from 24 in. to 21 in! Brad is the best! I can prove it!"
-Mary (50 year old Grandmother!)

The free nutritional tour with Katie [the coach] was very helpful-I learned even more about reading labels. Sometimes you have to look for healthy options even beyond the obvious choices.

“Hello, my name is Noelle and I joined Go: Fitness a little more than two years ago. The main reason for joining was because I was working in a school where my classroom was on the 3rd floor; I was tired of not being able to breathe when I got to my classroom! I also liked the small feeling this gym provides, it is not intimidating like some of the other gyms around town. It also provides me with an outlet to relieve stress. I suppose I should say something about wanting to become a healthier person; for me that was an added bonus.

Over the past two years I have seen a dramatic difference in the shape of my body, I am a lot more tone now than I have ever been! I have lost so many inches that I have lost track. I have attained this by taking a variety of the classes from Kickboxing and Yoga to FAST and Pump and Pedal. This way, I don’t do the same thing day after day. Each trainer knows me and how much to push me. I really appreciate it when they challenge me because unfortunately, I wouldn’t do it on my own. They take me to the limit, but are very understanding when I say “too much”. All of the trainers are fun to work with, and I have a great time while working out. I think that is the best part about this gym, you have fun, and you leave knowing it was well worth every minute. Welcome to Go Fitness, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!”

“As a small-business owner and an elected official, I’m often on the go all day long. Go: Fitness gives me a place where I can escape from the phones, the intrusions, and the stress — morning, noon, or night. It’s the time when I schedule an appointment with me, for me.

Working out several days a week actually gives me more time to do what I need to get done outside of the gym. It’s an investment in my physical and mental health that literally pays for itself. I am more focused at work and sleep better (and less) at night when I stick to a disciplined fitness program.

Before joining Go: Fitness and working with a trainer, I spent years doing the same boring exercises with the same lack of results. With functional-style training, I look forward to my time at the club. My strength is up, my stress is down, and my weight is right where I want it.

Go: Fitness has even helped improve my vacations. I love skiing and snowboarding. The core-strength exercises my trainer showed me have improved my balance and stability. This has helped me to ski and board more efficiently, so I can spend more time riding on the mountain, instead of falling down it.”

“GO: Fitness is a small place that I can go and have a friendly staff waiting for me. I like how I can show up and at the end of the hour I know I’ve had a hard workout. I have a lot more fun working out this way and I defiantly work harder with another person (Team Workout).

I am really happy with this picture. I have ran quite a few marathon, and have photos from each of them. Until I started training with my trainer, I have never seen muscles in my legs. Now, I can see muscles. Nothing too outrageous, just something running never gave me.”
-Allison

"I really like using Go: Fitness’s Online Training "ActivTrax." It’s great for a person like me, who just needs a little bit of structure to get the ball rolling. ActivTrax doesn’t give me any work-outs that are scary or intimidating. They DO give me work-outs that are challenging."

“One day I put a pair of pants on and they were too tight to even button. This was when I knew I had to workout again. I had stopped working out for about 6 months. The last time I worked out consistently I didn’t loose weight as fast as I wanted. I knew this time I would need to be on a diet along with working out to loose the amount of weight I desired. I decided to have Go: Fitness put me on a diet in mid January and about one month later that same pair of pants were no longer tight. One month after that they are actually loose. I recently went home and each member of my family said that they noticed my weight lose. The funny thing is that I never told them I was working out again or that I was on a diet. The diet was very easy to adapt to with each meal being planned out including a grocery list for easy shopping. Some items I don’t like to eat but since being put on the diet I now know what type of foods I can replace these items with. I would suggest anyone starting a Go: Fitness diet if there ultimate goal is to loose weight in a reasonable time frame.”
-Adam

“I changed gyms several years ago when I changed jobs. Go: Fitness is located half way between home and work. It’s a friendly and clean gym, with a knowledgeable staff. I really enjoy the other members I work out with in the mornings. There’s just a nice camaraderie.

I’ve worked out several times with a personal trainer over the years. I’ve seen results! It’s good to workout with someone as learned and active in workouts as my trainer is.

I also appreciate the hands on approach Sharon, Nick and Aurora have with their business. It really does make a difference in getting the results I want.”

“Today, I went through what Go: Fitness calls their “equipment orientation”. Every member gets an E.O. when they first join. I never realized how extremely important this one hour meeting with a personal trainer at Go: Fitness, really is.

Go: Fitness is about functional training, useful training-going the extra mile. Working out here no longer means the traditional exercising or weight training. It is much, much more. When walking into a gym, especially if you have never done that before, there are a lot of machines that may look foreign to you. These machines are there for a reason: to help you, not to scare you.

The first thing he did was sit us both down to find our individual target heart rate for working out. Then, the both of us were given heart monitors to wear and taken into the cardio room. This room contains bikes, elliptical, and treadmills. I stood on different treadmills and talked through the functions of them.

My coach and I walked into the main room which contains racks, dumbbells, rings, rubber-bands, machines, a big green area, medicine balls, many personal trainers and much more. The equipment in this fitness center is up to date, exceeding my expectations. I then went through each of the FreeMotion machines that line the gym and taught how to use them correctly. We actually tried them out and found a comfortable weight to use on each. An interesting fact that I learned was how these machines can even help with posture. I am not sure about you, but my posture can use some improvement.

After completing the e.o. I feel much more confident about walking into the Go: Fitness and knowing what I am doing. I can approach a machine, sit down properly, and perform the exercise. I know that if other members look at me, while I am performing the exercise correctly, that I do not look ridiculous!

I am more confident about successfully achieving my personal workout goals. I feel like I am a member now, actually part of the gym. Although I do not know everything about each machine, I do know that it will only take time and practice to fully know how to use each one to my advantage. Now, I am ready to arrive at Go: Fitness and begin my daily workout with the knowledge that I need at a beginners level.”
